Pandora's Boxes

Okay, here is something that I started last week and finished this morning. If it's not very good, you'll have to forgive me as I have a bad migraine and can hardly see straight to type. Anyway, here it is...

Oh, and the first line is from a writing prompt site that I found once, but can't locate again to give you the link. Sorry.

Locked boxes and different lives

Memories faded and decayed

Like the remains of a life

Unlived, rotting away

Bits of time lost

Emerging pieces of me

Fractured lives locked away

In the madness of this mind

Pretty boxes all tied up in bows

Each containing a secret

All those things veiled

Locked away, hidden from sight

Like Pandora’s Box, den of iniquity

Putrid and dark, blight on the world

Don’t look inside, it’s locked away

For a reason, insanity lurks within

I warned you before you let it loose

Unlocked all those boxes,

Unleashed it for all the world to suffer

Now it’s over, the end has come

But wait, what does the myth say?

What is at the bottom, way deep inside?

After all has been unleashed, devoured the world,

Hope, is what we find,

When all is said and done.
