despair surges in
as weeks of mania shatter
leaving the euphoric shards of
gold-tinged reverie to
cut me to my core
bleeding
heart aches with a heaviness
that drags me deeper
into desperation
tears sting my eyes
reluctant to fall
for once they start
they may never cease
sorrow strangles me
leaves me breathless and
longing for comfort
the wailing wind outside
laments my misery and
my soul echos its
mournful cries

I just so love this...... Good Job.
Dark and spiralling indeed, yet does this abyss have an end too?
ReplyDeleteHopefully a whirlwind of hope will arise to lift the spirits and counteract the downward spiral.

simply said, but so true .. when the heart is heavy it does take you where it shouldn't ... desperation not a bright and happy place to be!
inquisitive-life~ Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBlasphemous Aesthete~ It does have an end, the cycle always continues from mania to depression and back again.
Gerry~ I hope so too! Thank you.
