Torn, flesh ripped open
bleeding
emotions raw
throbbing
heart aches
gaping wound
festering
rotting
the stench of it
nauseating.
Bleeding
oozing despair
desperately
trying to survive
the agony of this existence.
Silent scream
echoes
through this empty house
spiders spinning and
the ghosts of the past
haunting are
my only companions.
Fall into sleep
eternal rest
soothing oblivion
dreamless sanctuary
where the specters of agony
screeching their scornful shrieks
are silenced forever.

I hope when this place comes round again she can recapture the breeze of nature and the grass between her toes of the previous poem..a little nap in a garden perhaps..the safety of sleep but blanketed by nature not loneliness.. Jae :)
ReplyDeleteThe loneliness is painful in this piece, Jane.
ReplyDeleteThere is a sense of peace with the last stanza.
A strongly written piece.
Pamela
Agony, its so tormenting that we might just break down and still there would be no respite. Would death put an end to it, who can tell.
ReplyDeleteNice read Jane :)
